Stop by the Lewis H. Latimer House for a free viewing of “The Birth of a Nation,” Saturday, Jan. 28. The showing is in celebration of Black History Month and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The historical drama tells the real-life story of a slave revolt that occurred in 1831 Virginia, led by a black preacher named Nat Turner.

Are there any astronomy lovers out there? The Astronomy – The New Moon program features the use of telescopes and binoculars to observe specific astronomical events. Many programs feature astronomy experts and all equipment is provided. Programs are best enjoyed on clear nights, so please call ahead if weather conditions are not clear.
