Police have released new information about the armed robbery in front of an Auburndale home.
On Monday morning, a family of four were pulling into their driveway at 194th Street and 42nd Avenue when two Hispanic men held them at gunpoint, the NYPD said. The suspects demanded money from the family, who consisted of a 23-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, a 56-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy.
The two men attempted to drag the family into the home, but when the 56-year-old man resisted, he was pistol-whipped in the face, police said.
The suspects then fled in the black 2014 Honda Odyssey owned by the victims which contained three iPhones.
The man who had been struck with the firearm refused medical attention, police said, and there were no other reported injuries.
Police earlier had identified the suspects as four to five black males, but at that point the crime was classified only as an armed robbery.
There are currently no arrests in the case and the investigation is still ongoing, police said.
