UPDATED March 17, 10:10 a.m.

Detectives have charged a Bayside man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman while he was getting a massage at a Flushing beauty salon last week.

Charlie J. Yu, 41, was taken into custody at noon on March 16 at his home on 209th Street as a result of an investigation into the attack that took place at 4 a.m. on March 9 inside a salon on 164th Street.

Law enforcement sources said Yu was getting a massage at the location when he became engaged in a dispute with the female victim. He’s accused of punching the woman about the face and body, then sexually assaulting her before fleeing the scene.

The incident was reported to the 109th Precinct; the victim was taken to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Yu was charged on Thursday with attempted rape, strangulation, criminal sexual act, forcible touching, assault and sex abuse.
