The Age of Innocence — Martin Scorsese’s sumptuous cinematic rendering of Edith Wharton’s novel about the social mores of turn-of-the-century New York is one of the legendary director’s greatest accomplishments. The Prison in Twelve Landscapes — Brett Story’s ingenious debut is a film about the prison in which we never see a penitentiary. Instead, the film unfolds as a cinematic journey through a series of landscapes across the U.S. that are affected and defined by prisons, from a California mountainside where female prisoners fight raging wildfires, to a Bronx warehouse full of goods destined for the state correctional system, to an Appalachian coal town betting its future on the promise of prison jobs.

March Astronomy Night — One of the longest running astronomy programs in the city, now in its 20th year, will be led by seasoned professor/astronomer Mark Freilich. Each program features an indoor question and answer session on basic astronomy, followed by exciting oudoor viewing using a professional telescope. NYRR Open Run: Astoria Park — Open Run is a community-based, volunteer-led running initiative bringing free weekly runs and walks to local neighborhood parks. The finish line is open until the last person is done. The courses vary based on the park, but average between 2.5 and 3 miles long.
