Jamaica Bay Park Tree Planting — Volunteer with the Stewardship Team to plant trees in the forest in Jamaica Bay Park. Volunteers will be trained in proper planting techniques. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Please bring your own water bottle for this event.

When: Saturday, April 1, at 9 a.m.

Storytime Craft — Bring your little nature lovers to Queens Botanical Garden for a relaxing afternoon with a reading of I Can Name 50 Trees Today!: All About Trees by Bonnie Worth, followed by crafting a foldable leaf ID book. Recommended for ages 10 and younger.

When: Saturday, April 1, at 2 p.m.

Where: Queens Botanical Garden, 43-50 Main St., Queens

Children’s Carnival — Visit the Queens County Farm Museum for two weekends of kids’ carnivals in the apple orchard. The event features carnival rides, midway games, hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo and tours of the farm house. There will also be free face painting, and balloons for children. The carnival is recommended for children ages 4-12.

When: 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday April 1; Sunday April 2

Where: Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park

Three Centuries of Music for the French Horn A recital featuring the French Horn in music from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
