Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man with a knife who robbed a woman and assaulted another woman in Richmond Hill earlier this month.
According to police, at 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, two women, ages 54 and 59, a 54-year-old woman (Victim 1) and a 59-year-old woman (Victim 2) were talking in the vicinity of Mayfair Road and 116th Street when an unknown man approached them with a knife.
The suspect forcibly took the 54-year-old woman’s purse and when the 59-year-old woman tried to assist her, the suspect pushed the 59-year-old to the ground, causing an injury to her hip.
Both victims was transported to Jamaica Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black man standing 6 feet, one inch tall, and weighing 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
