The NYPD was looking for a man who placed a skimming device in an ATM at an Ozone Park bank. The suspect entered the Astoria Bank branch, located at 63-72 108th St., Saturday morning and a surveillance camera captured him installing the device just after 9 a.m., police said.
The “forged instrument” is used to collect information about customers’ debit cards and their pin numbers, according to the NYPD.
Police described the suspect as a black man, last seen wearing a green waist-length jacket, a dark-colored bandana and eye glasses. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
