It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish a one-alarm fire that ignited on Friday morning on the roof of a new Forest Hills building, Fire Department sources said.

According to the FDNY, the blaze ignited at about 8:26 a.m. on June 23 at the top of the mixed-use, seven-story structure located at 109-19 72nd Road, between Queens Boulevard and Austin Street.

More than 60 firefighters from 12 units responded to the scene and were able to bring the fire under control just before 9:30 a.m., Fire Department sources said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation, the FDNY noted.
