Barber found shot to death on the Belt Parkway service road in south Queens: reports

Police are investigating the death of a local barber who was shot on a corner of a Springfield Gardens street early on Tuesday morning.

At 12:15 a.m. on July 25, police responded to a 911 call of a man shot at the corner of South Conduit Avenue and Lansing Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, they found 32-year-old Zanu Simpson of 193rd Street in St. Albans in the driver’s seat of a BMW X5, unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the head.

EMS responded to the scene and transported Simpson to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
