A playground located under the Triborough Bridge has been revamped and now features ping pong tables, volleyball courts, exercise equipment and painted exercise games.

The renovations at Triborough Bridge Playground A, located on Hoyt Avenue North between 21street and Astoria Park, began in the fall of 2016 and the playground re-opened a few weeks ago, according to a spokeswoman with the Parks Department.

The area has been repaved and the upgrades include new drainage and fencing.

The new space is dedicated to adults, devoid of swings & slides and children’s play equipment.

The project was funded with $825,000 from the City Council and the Mayor.

Plans for the park were initially announced in 2013, but the project was postponed while the site was used as a staging area for work on the Triborough Bridge above it.

DNAinfo was first to report that the playground had reopened.
