Police looking for man who snatched a trumpet from passerby in Sunnyside

A man playing his trumpet on a Sunnyside street was blindsided by a man who crept up behind him and stole his instrument, police said.

The incident occurred on July 14 at about 2:35 p.m. at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and 46th Street. The 33-year-old victim was playing his trumpet when the perpetrator approached him from behind and took the instrument out of his hands.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, standing at approximately 6 feet, 5 inches and weighing about 190 pounds.
