An insurance company with office space in Long Island City is subleasing its tremendous office space, the Commercial Observer reported.

MetLIfe, which currently operates at the Brewster Building, located at 27-01 Queens Plaza North, will be subleasing office space to health insurance provider Fidelis Care, which is taking more than 21,000 square feet, and to the coworking firm WeWork, who will have nearly 43,000 square feet.

The deals for Fidelis and WeWork were signed last month, according to the report. Fidelis will take the 11th floor of the Brewster Building, which has 21,463 square feet of space. WeWork signed on to take the 12th and 13th floors of the building, which has approximately 42,926 square feet of space.

In addition to subleasing for WeWork and Fidelis, according to the Commercial Observer, MetLife has sought to sublease some of its space at the Brewster Building to its other subtenants, including JetBlue and the Long Island City Partnership.

In 2001, MetLife signed a 20-year lease with the building after a plan to move the company to Long Island City. Five years later, the plan was abandoned and most of the MetLife employees were relocated back to Manhattan.
