Enjoy carnival rides, pig races and a-maize-ment at the 35th Annual Queens County Fair this weekend

An annual weekend of family fun on the farm is coming to Glen Oaks!

The Queens County Farm Museum will hold its 35th Annual Queens County Fair on Sept. 23-24. The fun, all-day event will feature pie eating and corn husking contests, carnival rides, games, pig races and entertainment by jugglers, magicians and acrobats.

The event will also feature Blue Ribbon competitions in a number of categories, including produce, livestock, arts and crafts and baked goods.

Families can also adopt a worm for their home compost bin and get gardening and recycling tips at the Con Edison Ecology booth, which will also feature free crafts for kids.

Food and craft vendors will be at the farm all day, and adults can enjoy live music and a brew at the beer garden.

The County Fair will run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on both days. One-day admission is $10 for adults and $7 for kids ages 3-12 and advanced tickets can be purchased here.

The farm’s 2017 Amazing Maize Maze will also open to the public this weekend. Every Saturday and Sunday up until Oct. 29, visitors can work their way through the 3-acre living puzzle. This year’s maze is inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

The maze will be open from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

The Queens County Farm Museum is a 47-acre working farm located at 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy. with a history dating back to 1697. The site includes includes historic structures, including a landmark farmhouse, glass greenhouse and restored barns.
