Greedy crook sought for grabbing gold chains off the necks of men in South Ozone Park

Police released on Thursday video footage of a man wanted for two recent chain snatchings on the streets of South Ozone Park in the past week.

Authorities said the first incident occurred on 125th Street at 4:42 p.m. on the afternoon of Sept. 3, when a 42-year-old man was approached from behind by the bandit. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s neck chain, valued at $350, then fled the scene northbound on 125th Street.

Moments later, the crooks was seen entering a red SUV, operated by an unidentified individual, that sped away.

Three days later, law enforcement sources said, the bandit struck again, this time attacking a 52-year-old man in front of a home on 111th Avenue near 123rd Street. The thief approached the victim from behind and forcibly removed three neck chains, valued at $2,500, then ran away westbound on 111th Avenue to 122nd Street.

Upon arriving at the location, authorities noted, the crook again entered a red SUV that sped away from the location.

Both incidents were reported to the 106th Precinct. On Sept. 7, police released footage of the unidentified bandit in the first incident and the SUV which was filmed on a security camera following the second chain snatching.
