Broadway star Jason Danieley will give a free performance at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in Long Island City Sunday, Nov. 12.

The concert is part of Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concert Series and represents one of the first times that Carnegie Hall has featured a musical theater star of this caliber.

Danieley has starred in Broadway shows such as “Chicago,” “The Visit with Chita Rivera,” “Curtains,” with David Hyde Pierce, “Next to Normal,” with Marin Mazzie, “The Full Monty,” and “Candide,” as well as a solo show, “Romantic Notions,” where he sang of love, incorporating music of many musical genres

“For more than four decades, Carnegie Hall has partnered with venues throughout New York City to present more than 1,000 free Neighborhood Concerts in all five boroughs,” public relations associate Eli Rumpf said. “In planning the series, we look to feature a wide range of musical genres, including classical, jazz, world and popular music, and to showcase up-and-coming as well as established artists.”

For this season their programming team wanted to include a performer from Broadway as part of the mix.

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Danieley in the past productions at Carnegie Hall, including concert performances of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel” and “South Pacific,” and it’s exciting to be able to showcase his talents in the concert as well,” Rumpf said.

The concert is slated to begin at 3 p.m. at the Mainstage Theater, located at 31-10 Thomson Ave.
