Seven suspects wanted for assaulting a man during an Astoria robbery attempt

Police are looking for a group of men who assaulted a man in an attempt to rob him on the streets of Astoria last month.

On Oct. 22 at 1:20 a.m., law enforcement sources said, a 29-year-old man was approached by a group of unknown individuals outside of 25-48 Steinway St. The suspects — whom police described as black men — then started to punch and kick the victim while trying to take belongings from his backpack.

Police said the crooks fled the scene empty handed; the victim suffered minor injuries.

The NYPD released the following description of what each of the suspects wore during the attack:

  1. a white t-shirt and blue jeans;
  2. a gray hoodie and light blue jeans;
  3. a red jersey and black jeans;
  4. a black hoodie and red track pants;
  5. a red shirt and black jeans;
  6. a gray sweater and black jeans; and
  7. a burgundy hoodie and black jeans.
