UPDATE: Police looking for man who stabbed to death 25-year-old in Elmhurst apartment building

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a 28-year-old man who they believe stabbed a 25-year-old man to death inside his Elmhurst apartment on Tuesday.

Police believe Santiago Echeverri-Rivera is responsible for the death of David Alejandro Gonzalez and warn that he is “armed and extremely dangerous.”

Officers from the 110th Precinct responded to a 911 call at 8:29 a.m. on Dec. 12 and entered an apartment building at the intersection of 80th Street and Woodside Avenue.

Once inside, they found Gonzalez with multiple stab wounds to his torso and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, Gonzalez and Echeverri-Rivera got into a verbal dispute in the apartment that ended in Gonzalez being stabbed to death.

Police say Echeverri-Rivera is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was 41-25 Case St. in Elmhurst.
