Con Edison crews are scrambling to restore power to nearly 900 customers in Elmhurst who lost their electricity on Tuesday morning.

The power outage occurred at about 9:25 a.m. on Jan. 23 in an area generally bounded by 54th Avenue on the north; 57th Avenue on the south; 82nd Street on the west and 85th Street on the east.

According to Allan Drury of Con Edison, the utility dispatched a crew to investigate calls of the outage and found a number of overhead lines damaged. There’s no word yet on what caused it.

Con Edison hopes to have the lights back on in the affected area before 1:30 p.m. today, Drury added.
