Police search for man who dragged passenger out of car in Woodside and assaulted him with cricket bat

Police released a photo on Jan. 10 of a suspect wanted for recently assaulting a man with a cricket bat as the victim sat in the passenger side of a car in Woodside.

According to the NYPD, the incident occurred on Nov. 10 at approximately 2:10 p.m. when two men approached a 35-year-old sitting in a car at the intersection of 61st Street and 37th Avenue.

The men dragged the victim out of the car, beat him with a cricket bat and stole $100 from his pockets before fleeing the scene. The victim refused medical attention.

Azan Ahmed, 30, of Woodside was arrested and charged with robbery on Dec. 1, but police are still looking for the second suspect, identified as Azal-Hamed Rubel. Police described him as an Asian male who is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
