A trendy Chinese bar and restaurant in Astoria has closed after being in business for about two months.
Ha’s Chinese Bar & Eatery, which operated at 40-17 Broadway, closed on Feb. 12, according to its website and Instagram page. The eatery offered vegetarian Chinese.
The husband-and-wife duo of Ben Sandler and Jennifer Lim owned the restaurant. They had operated Queens Kickshaw at the same location for seven years but closed it in August due to financial difficulties.
Sandler said at the time that the transformation into Ha’s was in response to weak sales.
The couple also owned the cider gastropub Wassail in the Lower East Side. Wassail struggled economically and closed at the end of December.
Sandler and Lim could not be reached for comment by the time this story was posted.
