A car crash involving a delivery truck in Harlem left a Jackson Heights man dead Tuesday morning, police reported.

At 4:24 a.m. on Feb.  27, police responded to a 911 call regarding a vehicle collision at West 129th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard. Upon their arrival, officers found a 33-year-old female driver with facial injuries and 35-year-old Angel Campana of Jackson Heights in the front passenger seat with head trauma.

A preliminary investigation found that the female victim was driving a 2008 Mercedes Benz northbound on Frederick Douglas Boulevard when she struck the rear of an unoccupied 2010 Kenworth delivery truck that was double-parked on the road. The car continued to cross into southbound lanes and came to rest after striking a tree.

Both victims were removed to Harlem Hospital, where Campana was pronounced dead. The female victim, whose identity has not been released, is in stable condition.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the case.
