Cops arrested a homeless man who pulled a knife on a woman in a Jackson Heights apartment building on Feb.5 in an attempt to steal her purse.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened at about 8 p.m. inside of a residential building at 76th Street and 35th Avenue. Michael Roque,63, followed a 39-year-old female into the lobby, grabbed her from behind and threatened her with a knife as he tried to take her purse.

Police said the woman fought back as he tried to take her purse and was able to force him outside of the building where she screamed for help. A passerby came to help her and the suspect fled from the scene without the purse.

The victim was treated on the scene for a small laceration on her left hand, police said.

Roque was charged with one count of robbery.
