St. John’s men’s lacrosse soars to victory over High Point

The St. John’s men’s lacrosse season is in full swing.

The Johnnies’ secured a 16-11 home victory over High Point last weekend behind a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive performance.

Joe Madsen and Jason DeBenedictis led St. John’s on offense, each recording five points. Madsen scored four times and tallied an assist while DeBenedictis found the back of the net three times to go along with two assists.

Matt Hanley recorded 13 saves in between the pipes to secure the victory for the Johnnies, who improved to 2-1 on the season.

The Red Storm will be back in action Saturday afternoon, when they take on No. 10 North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
