Police are searching for a man who shoved and punched a straphanger at the Queensboro Plaza station last week.
The NYPD says the attacker pushed a 21-year-old man aside while both were boarding an Astoria-Ditmars Blvd.-bound N train at around 7:30 p.m. on April 29.
The 21-year-old victim confronted him over the shove, but was punched in the face. The man then stepped outside the train and challenged the 21-year-old to a fight, police say.
The victim stayed inside the train while the assailant remained on the platform outside.
Police describe the suspect as black, in his 40s, measuring 6 feet tall, and donning a mustache. He was also seen wearing a red baseball cap, a red hooded sweater, a black vest, and dark colored jeans.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). All calls are strictly confidential.
