Police searching for suspect wanted for firing gunshots outside an Astoria apartment building

Police need the public’s help identifying a man who fired off several rounds of ammunition outside an Astoria apartment house.

On May 24, police received a call just before 6 p.m. that an individual had fired shots from a firearm in the rear of  an apartment building at 1-25 Astoria Blvd. It was reported that he then fled inside of 2-10 27 Ave.

Officers from the 114th Precinct responded to the scene. There was no property damage or injuries as a result of the shooting.

Cops described the suspect as a black man in his 20s who was last seen wearing a white hooded sweater, black and red pants and white sneakers. The man can be seen below in surveillance footage from the NYPD.

Law enforcement said that the motive for the incident is unknown.
