Police Search for Teens Who Stole $300 of Haagen-Dazs From Astoria Rite Aid

Two teenagers snatched $300 worth of Haagen-Dazs ice cream from an Astoria Rite Aid Tuesday and punched an employee who attempted to stop them, police said.

The teens grabbed the ice cream at the Rite Aid located at 32-14 31st St. at around 12:50 p.m. June 5, police said.

An employee tried to grab one of suspects when he noticed the theft. One of the teens punched the employee in the chest, and the pair took off running west down Broadway.

The suspects are believed to be black and about 16 or 17 years old, police said. One of them is described to be about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds, and the other as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 pounds.

The employee was not injured in the robbery.
