The Shannon Pot’s new location at 10-50 44th Dr. (NYC ZoLa)

The Shannon Pot, the longtime Long Island City bar forced to relocate twice due to development, is settling into another location in the neighborhood and looking to open its doors this fall.
The bar and grill has moved to 10-50 44th Dr., the former site of the East River Coffee Shop, where it is working on bringing new fixtures, windows, equipment, and more to the site, according to a spokesperson for the bar.
The bar will have the same look and feel as always, with about 13 tables and a 20-stool bar.
The business should open some time in the middle of October, with hours of 10 a.m. to 4 a.m., if everything goes according to plan.
The new location marks the third for the bar, founded in 1999, which has been forced to move each time to make way for development.
It last operated out of the one-story building at 21-59 44th Dr., just two blocks away, before closing in May after a four year run. The property owner there had filed plans to demolish and construct a new seven-story building at the site.

Prior to that, the Shannon Pot was located on the ground floor of 45-06 Davis St., a four-story building, where it remained open for 15 years before its first encounter with the wrecking ball.
The building, located on the same block as the former 5Pointz building, was demolished to make way for two high-rise towers still under construction today.
While the Shannon Pot previously said it would move into the former 44th Drive location once the new building is completed, the owner says they haven’t quite made a decision yet, meaning the new location could be their permanent home.
