Chatty suspect steals a woman’s cellphone after conversation at a Jamaica subway station

Cops are looking for a talkative thief who recently struck up a conversation with a woman, then stole her belongings at a Jamaica station.

The robbery occurred at 4:43 a.m. on Oct. 26 at the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue station, law enforcement sources said.

According to authorities, the suspect — described as a black man between the ages of 25 to 30 — began talking with the unidentified woman in an apparent attempt to distract her. Police said he allegedly tried to reach into her open handbag to remove her wallet, but failed.

He became more aggressive during his second effort, cops said. As they exited the subway station, the suspect allegedly grabbed the female victim by her neck, threw her to the ground, and removed her cell phone, according to police.

The woman was not seriously injured, police said.
