Busy burglar breaks into four stores on same Whitestone block in one morning: cops

Police are searching for a thief wanted for a string of burglaries at four commercial businesses in Whitestone last week.

According to law enforcement sources, the male suspect broke into each store along 154th Street through the rear door on Friday, Feb. 1 at approximately 2:20 a.m., stealing thousands of dollars in cash from the register.

The suspect entered Lotto & Smoke Corner (22-18 154th St.), where he stole $4,000 in cash, police said. He then broke into Whitestone Veterinary Care (22-22 154th St.) and removed $220 from the office, police said.

After breaking into those businesses, authorities said, the bandit entered two more stores to steal additional cash: the  Ruby Everyday Nail Salon (22-18 154th St.), where he grabbed $2,000; and the taking approximately Green Garden Chinese Restaurant (22-20 154th St.), where he pilfered $150.

All of the incidents were reported to the 109th Precinct. On Feb. 7, the precinct tweeted out security camera images of the burglar.
