Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that left a man dead in Jackson Heights on Monday.
According to authorities, at 11:57 a.m. on April 8, police responded to a 911 call regarding a man shot in the vicinity of 88th Street and 37th Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found 31-year-old Jeffrey Arroyo at the location with a gunshot wound to his chest.
EMS responded to the scene and transported Arroyo to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police arrested a suspect who was in the building near where the victim was shot. Authorities believe that Arroyo was shot in connection to a crime and police are investigating the case as a homicide.
