The Commonpoint Queens Beacon after-school program at M.S. 216 in Fresh Meadows will be hosting a free community health fair on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will include free health screenings, free HIV testing, self-care workshops, and activities for children at MS 216 — located at 62-30 175th St. — with free food from local businesses like Bagel Oasis and Fresh Meadows Pizzeria and Restaurant.

Visitors can participate in activities such as “Caregiver 101: What Everyone Needs to Know” presented by Services Now for Adult Persons, Meditation with Ting from Flushing Meditation, Yoga with Amy, Dance with Dee, Face painting with Camila and arts and crafts.

There are also chances to win prizes: A one-week membership for Meadows Spa Fitness for Women, one gift certificate for Cryology in Bayside, one gift certificate for Applebee’s, and a free meal at Boston Market.

Commonpoint Queens is a social services organization that meets the diverse and evolving needs in the borough of Queens. Guided by the Jewish values of service and justice, the organization was founded to support the local Jewish community, as they continue to do today.

As the demographics have evolved, Commonpoint Queens has extended their reach in the community across 52 sites in Queens, including the Sam Field Center and Central Queens, where many of its programs are based. The Commonpoint Queens’ Youth Education Services Department provides a free range of after-school enrichment programs such as trips, groups and special events for children currently in Kindergarten through grades 8.
