A 28-year-old woman who was found dead inside an Astoria apartment building last week was murdered, according to the police.
Dhuha Sabaa was discovered inside a second-floor apartment above a Dominos Pizzeria at 25-55 Steinway St. at about 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, according to the police.
Sabaa was found unresponsive on the apartment floor by first responders reporting to a 911 call for a foul odor at the location. She had lacerations to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no signs of forced entry at the one-room apartment.
The NYPD has now classified the incident as a homicide and an investigation is ongoing.
