A 42-year-old man was killed in a collision last night after he tried to get onto the Brooklyn Queens Expressway via an exit ramp and was struck while traveling in the wrong direction by a BMW that was getting off the highway.

The victim drove his 2005 Honda Accord in the wrong direction down the 39W Queens Boulevard exit ramp, when he struck a 2015 BMW 328i sedan that was exiting the ramp at around 11:30 p.m., police said.

Arriving officers found the 42-year-old Honda driver unconscious and unresponsive at the scene of the collision. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

EMS rushed the 33-year-old male driver and 30-year-old male passenger who were in the BMW to Elmhurst Hospital. Both the driver and passenger remain in stable condition, with a leg injury and a rib injury, respectively, police said.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
