Police are searching for three men in connection with an attempted robbery at a smoke shop in Jamaica last week.
At around 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, the three masked men entered the smoke shop at 178-03 Hillside Ave. and an assailant in a Yankees cap grabbed the arm of a store employee from under the plexiglass divider as he drew a black handgun and demanded money, police said.
Video surveillance captured a brief struggle that ensued and when the gunman lost his grip on the clerk, the three men left without the cash and fled southbound on 179th Street.
The victim refused medical attention, police said.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
