Police searching for a vandal that struck St. Michael’s Church in Flushing

Police from the 109th Precinct are looking for a man who allegedly vandalized a religious statue at a Flushing church last month.

At around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, the unidentified man hopped a fence and knocked over and damaged a religious statue that was in front of St. Michael’s Church, located at 138-64 Barclay Ave., according to the NYPD.

Police say the suspect is a light-skinned and bearded adult man in his 30s with a heavy build, black Afro hair and he was last seen wearing a gray shirt under a white-collar short sleeve shirt, blue jean shorts, white socks and black sneakers.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
