Police searching for suspects behind theft of straphanger’s wallet at Sutphin Boulevard subway station

Police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows and Transit District 20 are looking for two men in connection with a grand larceny at the Sutphin Boulevard subway station.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, a 54-year-old man was entering a turnstile at the Sutphin Boulevard and Hillside Avenue station on the E/F line when he was approached from behind by an unidentified man accompanied by another man, according to authorities.

One suspect removed the victim’s wallet from his left hand before fleeing on foot to parts unknown, police said. The wallet contained approximately $65 and credit cards. There were no injuries reported, according to the NYPD.

The suspects are described as two dark-skinned men in their mid-20s.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
