A Bronx resident was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a South Ozone Park man in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City last year, according to the NYPD.

Hector Crespo, 26, of Walton Avenue, was taken into custody and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, for the Sept. 3, 2020 shooting death of 25-year-old Vickram Sewsankar, of Ferndale Avenue in South Ozone Park, in front of 2-03 Borden Avenue beneath the Long Island Expressway viaduct, near 2nd Street.

Crespo allegedly shot Sewsankar in the stomach at around 6:50 p.m. following a dispute over a parking space and fled the scene in a gray BMW, police said. Officers from the 108th Precinct responded to the scene and discovered the victim lying in the roadway.

EMS responded to the crime scene and transported Sesankar to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell where he succumbed to his injuries.

Crespo was awaiting arraignment at Queens Criminal Court Wednesday, police said.
