Councilwoman Vickie Paladino and Cord Meyer Development will be holding a job fair at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center on Thursday, June 16, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Bay Terrace Job Fair is being organized to help identify employment opportunities for residents of Bayside, Whitestone and the surrounding communities, but those from other communities are still encouraged to attend.

Several businesses from the shopping center will be taking part in the job fair. These include Chico’s, Ben’s, Rosa’s Pizza, Home Goods, Christie and Co. and Men’s Warehouse. More businesses are expected to take part as well.

“Whether it’s part-time summer jobs or full-time career positions, everyone deserves to enjoy the rewards of employment,” Paladino said. “Full employment benefits the entire community, from the individual being hired to the many mom-and-pop shops and corporations in northeast Queens actively seeking job candidates. I want to thank Cord Meyer Development for sponsoring The Bay Terrace Job Fair and working with my office on this important initiative.”

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and be prepared to engage with a wide variety of potential employers. Those who have resumes are urged to bring copies with them.

According to Cord Meyer Development Vice President Controller Joe Forgione, this event will be helpful to both the shopping center and the Queens community.

“For more than 60 years, the Bay Terrace Shopping Center has served as the heart of the community,” Forgione said. “Whether it’s sponsoring an event like the June 16 job fair, hosting classic car nights for the whole family or providing employment to the thousands of men and women who work at the Bay Terrace, Cord Meyer is proud to meet the needs of the community and partner with dedicated elected officials like Vickie Paladino.”

The Bay Terrace Shopping Center’s Facebook and Instagram pages will be providing updates on businesses that will attend the job fair in the days leading up to the event. Additionally, those interested in attending who would like to know more about the event can contact Cord Meyer Leasing Assistant Joy Mangone via email at jmangone@cordmeyer.com.
