A woman was attacked on Saturday morning, June 18, as she walked near the intersection of 118th Street and North Conduit Avenue in South Ozone Park, according to cops.

Police from the 106th Precinct are looking for the man who is believed to have snuck up on the 29-year-old victim at around 6 a.m. and grabbed her from behind. The suspect began to choke her and threw her to the ground, police said.

The assailant then dragged the woman into Lefferts Playground where he began to sexually assault her, according to the NYPD. The suspect took off running northbound on Lefferts Boulevard.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening physical injuries during the attack and was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment, police said.

The NYPD released video surveillance Sunday that shows the suspect fleeing the scene on foot. He is described as in his 20s, with a dark complexion, slim build, and curly hair and was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at nypdcrimestoppers.com, or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
