Elderly woman slammed to ground in Jackson Heights

An elderly woman was hospitalized after getting into an argument with a man in Jackson Heights late last month.

Police from the 115th Precinct are looking for a man who approached the victim just after 8 p.m. on Monday, June 27, at the rear of 78-12 35th Ave., and engaged her in a verbal dispute, police said. The conflict escalated and the suspect suddenly grabbed the 70-year-old woman and threw her to the ground.

The woman sustained injuries to her elbows and knees and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition.

The assailant took off on foot in an unknown direction, police said.

The NYPD released a very brief snippet of video surveillance of the suspect as he walked through the building’s courtyard. He has gray hair and a beard and was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, blue and white striped shorts and white sneakers.
