Detectives from the NYPD Regional Fugitive Task Force on Aug. 24 tracked down a New Jersey man and took him into custody in connection with a fatal shooting in South Ozone Park in late June.

Rajtirath Bassi, 20, of Pierpont Street in Rahway, was arrested and charged with murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the June 25 execution of 31-year-old Satnam Singh as he sat in his car just steps from his South Ozone Park home.

The shooting occurred at around 3:46 a.m. on June 25 at the corner of Sutter Avenue and 129th Street, where Bassi allegedly fired several shots into the car, striking the victim in his neck and torso, police said.

Officers from the 106th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call regarding shots fired, found Singh slumped over inside his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS rushed him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the NYPD.

Bassi is awaiting his arraignment.
