A second man was arrested and charged with murder in a fatal shooting in Springfield Gardens father nearly a year ago, according to the NYPD.

Kingsley Ruffin, 21, of Foch Boulevard in Jamaica, was apprehended by officers from the 103rd Precinct and charged in the gang-related killing of 28-year-old Broderick Daniels in front of his home on 184th Street in Springfield Gardens during the early morning of Aug. 31, 2021.

Ruffin is the second man charged in the homicide investigation after Nasiem Pearson was arrested and charged in the murder in June. Both Ruffin and Pearson lived in the Cedar Manor apartments in Jamaica.

Daniels was shot multiple times in the torso and chest in the vestibule of his apartment building and was discovered by police unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS responded to the crime scene and rushed Daniels to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.

The motive for the fatal shooting is unclear but all three were purported street gang members, police said.
