Fall into October with these weekend specials!

GET TESTED AND VACCINATED

Before doing anything in person, get tested for COVID-19 and get vaccinated and boosted! Also, don’t forget to wear your mask indoors and socially distance wherever possible.

To slow the spread of COVID-19, the New York City Department of Health suggests getting tested often. Here is where you can find several places in Queens to get tested this weekend:

SATURDAY,  OCT. 1

Queens walk for Alzheimers 

The Alzheimer’s Association is taking over Flushing Meadow Corona Park in their annual walk for Alzheimer’s support and research. Join the community to raise awareness and donations to celebrate their pledge in ending the disease. Which flower will you represent? Find your answer and for more information, click here.

Hands on History (150-03 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica NY) 

Travel back in time to the 19th century at the King Manor Museum and experience a day of historical games and even reconstruct old tools and toys. The games begin at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m., click here to register.

SUNDAY, OCT. 2

Queens Museum Fall Exhibition Openings 

Welcome to the opening ceremony of Xaviera Simmons: Crisis Makes a Book Club and Charisse Pearlina Weston: of [a] tomorrow: lighter than air, stronger than whiskey, cheaper than dust. Attendees will embark on a session of Family Art Making, food and treats provided by Arepalicious and Moon Man, both participants of the Queens Night Market, then concluding with the tour.

A weekend at the Haus of Art

Friday, Sept. 30 : 6 p.m.  – 11 p.m.

Saturday, Oct.1  &  Sunday, Oct. 2: 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Be Here Events and Haus of Art invites over 40 virtual artists for a weekend of art, drinks, music, and amazing vibes. It will be hosted at the Be Here Loft located at 37-28 9th Street, Long Island City, on the second floor. Grab your ticket at Eventbrite, starting at $23.05. 

Queensboro Dance Festival finale

Friday, Sept. 30 & Saturday, Oct.1: 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 2: 5:00 p.m.

Home to the Queensboro Dance Festival, Queens Theatre is hosting the final performance of the festival after touring around the borough. Attendees can experience the diverse cultures in Queens through local dance artists in genres of Colombian, tap, Hula, West African, contemporary, and more! All tickets are $20, or get a 3-night pass for $40 and see all 3 shows! Please note performances at Queens Theatre will not be livestreamed.
