State Assemblyman Edward Braunstein on Oct. 13 announced his office will be holding its annual Halloween essay and drawing contest for constituents in his district. Students in grades two through five who live or go to school in Assembly District 26 will be eligible to take part in the contest.

According to the rules of the contest, each essay or drawing must have a Halloween theme. Such examples can include the student writing about their favorite experience trick-or-treating or drawing something related to Halloween. The winners in each grade will receive district-wide prizes. All participating students will receive New York State Assembly Certificates of Merit.

“This October, I’m inviting northeast Queens students to get creative and submit a Halloween-themed essay or drawing to my office’s annual contest,” Assemblyman Braunstein said. “I look forward to reviewing your entries as we prepare to celebrate the holiday.”

Students interested in participating are required to print their full name, grade and school on their entry. Essays and drawings can be submitted to Assemblyman Braunstein’s office via mail or drop-off to 213-33 39th Ave., Suite 238, Bayside, NY 11361, or by email to braunsteine@nyassembly.gov.

There is no limit to the size or format of the entry. The deadline for the contest is Friday, Nov. 4.

Those who may have any questions on the matter can contact Braunstein’s office at 718-357-3588.
