Crooks steal more than $3,000 from man who was shopping for fruit in Jackson Heights

The NYPD is searching for the two crooks wanted in connection with an incident of grand larceny that occurred last month in Jackson Heights. 

Police reported that at approximately 2:33 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, the 56-year-old victim was in front of 72-20 37th Ave., within the confines of the 115th Precinct, while shopping for fruit when two unidentified men approached. The crooks threw trash at the victim’s back. One of the unidentified men distracted the victim by pretending to remove the garbage from his back while the other man took cash from the victim’s bag.

The two crooks then fled on foot with approximately $3,520.

Police on Tuesday, Oct. 4, released surveillance video and images of the suspects.
