Brooklyn man charged with murder in fatal shooting of teen in Rosedale: NYPD

A Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a teenager in Rosedale on Aug. 7. Dariel Herrera, 30, of Hale Avenue in Cypress Hills, was taken into custody on Nov. 23 and charged with murder, attempted murder, two counts of assault, and four counts of possession of a weapon.

On the evening of Aug. 7, police from the 105th Precinct in Queens responded to a 911 call of a man shot in front of 231-08 148th Ave. on a dead end in Brookville and discovered 18-year-old Tysheem McDonald of Springfield Gardens with a gunshot wound to his chest. EMS responded to the crime scene and rushed McDonald to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

A second individual, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the leg and was transported by private means to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.
