Cord Meyer Development announced that the classic car shows put on throughout the summer at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center, in partnership with the Queens Classic Car Club, has raised approximately $3,400 for the St. Mary’s Hospital for Children. Cord Meyer also donated an additional $10,000 to the hospital.

The $3,400 was raised through the participation of attendees in the 50/50 raffles at each event. The additional $10,000 donation from Cord Meyer comes through the sponsorship of St. Mary’s Monster Mash event last month.

“We have a long history of supporting Queens-based not-for-profits, including St. Mary’s,” Cord Meyer Vice President Controller Joe Forgione said. “Cord Meyer and our Bay Terrace Shopping Center are proud to be there for the many organizations and programs that serve Bayside and Bay Terrace. We look forward to hosting more events at the Bay Terrace with the Queens Classic Car Club and other local groups. More than a shopping center, the Bay Terrace has become the heart of the community — a favorite destination for families and people of all ages.”

Founded in 1904, Cord Meyer is a premier developer, owner and operator of high-quality retail, commercial and residential properties in Queens as well as the surrounding New York metro area. Developed from a Meyer family farm, the Bay Terrace Shopping Center has grown with and served the community for over 60 years.

“St. Mary’s is recognized for the breadth of our services and the depth of our commitment,” St. Mary’s President and CEO Edwin F. Simpser said. “We give St. Mary’s children the tools they need to heal and thrive. We could not accomplish our goals without the support of the public, our donors and corporate support from generous organizations like Cord Meyer Development. Everyone here joins me in thanking Cord Meyer and the Queens Classic Car Club for their dedication to St. Mary’s.”
