A Whitestone man died Thursday, three days after he was struck by a car as he tried to cross a busy Murray Hill intersection along Northern Boulevard during the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 14, according to the NYPD.

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck just before 3 p.m. at Northern Boulevard and 158th Street on Nov. 14.

A preliminary investigation determined that Genci Frasheri, 70, of Powells Cove Boulevard, was attempting to cross 158th Street when he was hit by a 2021 BMW driven by a 34-year-old man who was making a left-hand turn onto 158th Street.

The driver of the BMW was not injured and remained at the scene, police said.

EMS responded and rushed the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Nov. 17.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad.
