Off-duty MTA worker attacked inside Court Square G line subway station in Long Island City: NYPD

An off-duty MTA employee was assaulted and menaced by a knife-wielding perp inside the Jackson Avenue G station near Pearson Street in Court Square at around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Police from the 108th Precinct in Long Island City and Transit District 20 are looking for the suspect who approached the 56-year-old man on the northbound mezzanine level inside the station and punched him on the left side of his face with a closed fist. The assailant proceeded to brandish a small silver knife before running out of the station towards Jackson Avenue, police said.

The victim sustained minor bruising to the face and refused medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD on Nov. 23 released a surveillance image of the suspect, who is believed to be between the ages of 35 and 45 and has a medium complexion and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black sneakers and a black and white baseball cap. Additionally, he had a black book bag slung across his chest.
