The NYPD released new surveillance images Friday, Dec. 16, that provide a better look at the face of a suspect who allegedly masturbated in front of a woman on board an R train in Queens Plaza just over a month ago.
The quick-thinking 37-year-old victim whipped out her cell phone and got a clear shot of the pervert in the act, but he was wearing a facemask and a baseball cap that hid his face.
Police from the 108th Precinct in Long Island City and Transit District 20 hope the new photos will help in their public lewdness investigation as they show the suspect passing through the turnstiles at Queens Plaza with the mask pulled down and minus the baseball cap.
The incident occurred in a Manhattan-bound R train around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9. The perpetrator sat across from the woman and allegedly “manipulated his genitals,” police said. As soon as the woman got a shot of the act in progress, the deviant rose and moved to the opposite end of the subway car.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and a reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information leading to his arrest. The suspect wore camouflage pants, a dark winter jacket, and beige sneakers with white soles. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 12-800-577-TIPS.
